One of the most profound and challenging scriptures of the bible is found in James 1:27. “Pure and undefiled religion is this…” It is to care for widows and orphans in their distress. And then without too much stretching of the context you can add in the rest of the elderly and the developmentally challenged.

Canadians have assisted with an incredible tranformation of State run orphanages and other instituitions in the Ukraine. One orphanage after another is provided with additional resources beyond what the State can afford. Computers, sporting equipment, playground equipment, graduation presents, automobiles and additional staff members have all been made possible by Canadians giving where they see need.

One of the simplest ways to become involved is through Childcare plus. This monthly sponsorship program will match your family with an orphan here in Ukraine.
